Dubai-based Filipino photographer Dennis Borja Mallari was in The Address Downtown on New Year’s Eve to photograph the Burj Khalifa fireworks.

After the fire broke out at around 9.30pm – which is said to have started on the 20th floor – he found himself in a smoke-filled room with no obvious route for escape.

Seeing it as his only option, he then dangled from the 48th storey of the 990-foot-tall building on a window cleaning platform, phoning friends to ask for help.

The record-breaking Dubai Airshow 2015 Now Flying

The Dubai Airshow 2015 will represent the centre of the industry when exhibitors from all corners of the globe converge on Dubai next week. 2015 UAE salary increase by 7.1 percent reports says

UAE salaries to rise by 7.1 percent in 2015 according to Gulf Talent report.

When is Mall of the World in Dubai going to be open? According to the report Construction 

Dubai Holding is currently appointing specialised consultants and expects to commence work on the first phase of the project during the first quarter of 2015,” the company said in a statement, according to 24/7.

Mall of the World in Dubai was announced in July 2014, location in Al Sufouh district, along Sheikh Zayed Road, different from Mohammed bin Rashid City. Project includes a covered theme park, shopping malls, shopping precinct, wellness zone, hotels, airconditioned walkways.[1][2] A previous Mall of the World project in Dubai was a planned mall in the plannedMohammed bin Rashid City mixed-use development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, announced in November 2012. It was to be the largest shopping mall in the world.
Reports added, The Mall of the World, which will become the world’s largest shopping mall, will see construction starting from first quarter 2015, according to Dubai Holding.

The world's first temperature-controlled city, Mall of the World, located along Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. Occupying a total area of 48 million sq. ft., the project will comprise the largest indoor theme park in the world, which will be covered by a glass dome that will be open during the winter months.
The project will also house the largest shopping mall in the world with an area of 8 million sq. ft., which will take the form of an extended retail street network, different to the typical shopping mall concept currently available in Dubai. Additional districts within the project will include a wellness dedicated zone catering to medical tourists, a cultural celebration district as well as a wide range of hospitality options comprising 20,000 hotel rooms catering to all types of tourists. Once completed, the City is projected to become a year-round destination, welcoming around 180 million visitors annually.

Launched in July this year, Mall of the World is a 48 million sq ft, climate-controlled development, which will house the world’s largest shopping mall and the world’s largest indoor theme park, covered by a glass dome that will be open during the winter months.

The project, estimated to cost $6.8 billion, will also include a wellness zone, a cultural celebration district and 100 hotels and serviced apartment buildings with 20,000 rooms.

Dubai Dancing Fountains - Shek Shak Shok Video gone viral

Set on the 30-acre Burj Khalifa Lake, the fountain shoots water jets as high as 500 ft (150 metres), equivalent to that of a 50-storey building. The fountain is 900 ft (275 metres) long and has five circles of varying sizes and two central arcs. “Hello Happiness,” a new video from Coca-Cola, opens with footage of migrant laborers in Dubai, standing before dawn in a patch of dirt as they wait for a van to pull up and shuttle them to work. Later, we cycle through shots of grim-faced men in work clothes—slouched on the bus as the sun rises, hunched on sagging bunk beds, crowded on the floor of a small room during mealtime with their elbows nearly touching. They tell us that they love and miss their families, and that they wish they could hear their children’s voices more often. We learn that these workers make about six dollars per day, and that it costs nearly a dollar per minute to call home—so phone calls are rare. Then the screen goes red, the music brightens, and we are posed a question: “So what if every Coke came with a few extra minutes of happiness?”
