The UAE Ministry of Labour has declared that the Eid Al Fitr holiday for all private sector employees will begin on the first and second days of Shawwal, work will resume on the third day of Shawwal of the year 1435 AH.

the holidays will start from Sunday, July 27, 2014, until Thursday, July 31, 2014.

That is a five-day holiday break for the festival and if one includes the weekends at the start and end of those days, it adds up to nine days.

All Federal employees will return to work on Sunday, August 3,According to Emirates 24/7

When is Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha in UAE?

Eid al Fitr is an important celebration on the global calendar, celebrated around the world. The word literally means, festival of breaking of the fast and marks the end of the month of Ramadan each year. The festival ends the dawn to dusk fasting that is followed by all Muslims around the world during the month of Ramadan. The festival is accompanied by a number of events happening throughout Dubai. The Abu Dhabi Government has announced on its website a list of public holidays for 2014.
Federal ministries, public departments and institutions will be closed on the following holidays:

The UAE governmant announced 3-Day, non-working Holiday for public sectirs starting on August 8 and last 3-working days.

The office hours during Ramadan are reduced by two hours daily. The end of Ramadan is marked by the three-day Eid Al Fitr.

Federal ministries, public departments and institutions are closed during the public holidays. During the Holy Month of Ramadan in particular, life changes considerably in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Whereas many restaurants and shops remain closed during the day, the streets and malls are vibrating with liveliness far into the night.
