Poe issued the statements a day after Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco, interim president of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), questioned her qualification to run for a higher post in 2016.
Q: On the residency issue na ni-raise po ni Rep. Tiangco?
Poe: Naaawa ako sa kanila na pinagdidiskitahan nila ang isyu na iyan na parang ganoon na rin ang ginawa ng mga nawawalan ng pag-asa noong tumatakbo si FPJ. Gayun pa man, tama rin naman na malaman ng ating mga kababayan ang aking tunay na pagkatao sapagkat ako ay kanilang inihalal at wala naman po akong itinatago. Isang public document po ang COC na iyan. Ngayon, sasagutin ko ito.
Unang-una, bakit nakalagay six years and six months. Nakalagay po doon sa COC, resident in the Philippines before May 2013. Hindi po sinasabi by May 2013 or on May 2013. Alam mo, sa experience ko sa COMELEC, dapat nag-iingat kang mabuti. Ang ginawa ko, it was my actual residence on the day of my filing, which is in October 2012.
Bakit ko napili ang 6 years and 6 months? Simple lang po. Kasi kung presence in the Philippines, I was here 2005 pa lang. Unang-una, hindi po totoo na ako ay hindi kwalipikado. Kwalipikado po ako pero hindi pa po ako kandidato. Ang iba may mga commercial na. Ako naman po ay nag-iisip at nagninilay-nilay pa. Sasagutin ko naman iyan kung ako ay nag-file, at iyan nga po ang kasagutan.
Pangalawa, taglay ko po ang katotohanan, hindi po ako nagtatago sa inyo. Kaya nga po hindi ko po kinakailangang magtago sa likod ng isang tagapagsalita.
Q: How does that affect your confidence tumakbo? Na ngayon pa lang, tinitira na kayo ng ganiyan? Nadi-disappoint ba kayo?
Poe: Alam ko namang darating iyan. Diba, noong sa tatay ko, masahol pa diyan ang ginawa sa kaniya. Napakasakit--ilang taon dito si FPJ, nagbigay ng trabaho sa maraming Pilipino, tumulong at nagmahal sa kanyang kapwa, sasabihin nila hindi Pilipino? Kaya nga po, ngayon na dumating iyan, sabi ko, mabuti na ring dumating iyan. Mas mabuti na pareho ang kanilang ibinabato sa amin ng aking tatay. Lack of experience, hindi Filipino, at kulang sa track record. Iyan po lahat ang ibinato nila kay FPJ. Kanino nanggagaling iyan? Hindi ba, sa kanila rin na dating sumuporta kay FPJ? Kung masakit sa kanila na hindi ako sumama sa kanila, mas masakit din sa akin na sinasabi nila iyon samantalang ang mga pinagkikilos nila ay taliwas naman sa kanilang mga sinasabi.
Q: On Rep. Tiangco's latest statement na wala daw pong basbas ni VP Binay ang statement na iyon?
Poe: Ganyan kalaking desisyon, walang sanction? At yung sinasabi nila na hindi naman daw talaga ako inimbita, na nahihiya lang daw sila kaya sinasabi nila na wag ilabas ang isyu na iyon dahil ayaw daw ng ating Bise Presidente? Pero handang-handa sila na ilabas iyon. Isa pa po, ngayon na nalabas na, balikan na lang natin ang 2013. Sinasabi nila na inimbita nila kaming sumama sa UNA--totoo. Inimbita nila kami. Pagkatapos noon, inilaglag na nila kami. Hindi na nga kami nagsalita noon pero masakit po para sa akin sapagkat bagong kandidato lamang ako. Kulang ang aking suporta. At yung mga mismong kaibigan ng tatay ko na inasahan ko sana na maiintindihan ang aking hakbang na akoy nasa administrasyon sapagkat MTRCB ako ay ang mga una pang nagtakwil sa amin.
Q: So what do you make of this? Nabanggit niyo nga na hindi pa kayo nakakapagpasya kung tatakbo o hindi? Why are they doing this?
Poe: ..Sa totoo lang, bakit kayo natatakot sa akin? Kung sinabi man na kayo ay hindi natatakot sa akin, hindi po ito ang kilos ng hindi nababantaan. Kahit papano, sinasabi nila na hindi daw nila ginawa ito bilang paghihiganti pero parang ang timing naman nila kung kelan ako pumirma ng committee report? Pinaninindigan ko po ang committee report ngayon, at kung kelan sinabi ko na dapat humarap sila at magsalita, ilalabas nila itong issue na ito. Mabuti na rin po para sa ating mga kababayan para alam nila na wala akong tinatago. Salamat na rin sa inyo sapagkat ngayon, may pagkakataon ako at dahilan para ieksplika ito.
Q: May kaugnayan ba ito sa survey dahil halos ang taas din ninyo sa last survey.
Poe: Alam niyo po hindi ko alam kung ano ang nagpapaikot sa kanilang mga desisyon. Pagdating po sa mga survey, ang sinasabi ko, ako'y taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa tiwala ng ating mga kababayan. Pero darating po tayo sa puntong pagdedesisyon na hindi pwedeng survey lamang ang basehan kundi kung ano talaga ang maiaalay mo para makatulong sa pinakamahihirap nating mga kababayan. Yan naman po ang lagi kong sinasabi na kung saka-sakali na ako'y magdedesisyon, dapat taglay ko na po ang plano kung papaano ko matutulungan ang ating bayan.
Q: Are you more encouraged to run now dahil ginaganyan ka na?
Poe: Ito na lang po ang masasabi ko, kung ang mga ganyang klaseng tao ang iuupo natin, sa tingin ko ay paurong ang magiging takbo ng ating bayan.
Q: This is an act of defense? Yung ginawa nilang paglabas ng residency issue?
Poe: Yun nga po, sa timing ng paglalabas nila, hind maganda. Gayunpaman, salamat na nga rin sa kanila na inilabas na nila ito.
Q: (inaudible)
Poe: Unang una wala akong tagapagsalita, mayroon akong mga kaibigan na dumedepensa sa amin. Sila, sino ba si Toby Tiangco? Tagapagsalita nino? So ganoon lang naman kasimple yun. At saka yung sinasabi ni Cong. Tiangco about presidency, siguro naman naiintindihan niya rin yun dahil siya ay representative ng Navotas pero yung kanya nang sitwasyon ay mas iba pa sapagkat iba naman ang kanyang tinitirahan hindi naman sa Navotas.
Q: Ano dapat ang nilagay na taon at buwan sa residency? Ano ang correct year?
Poe: Ang correct year ay 2005, if I am not mistaken. Alam mo kasi yung tatay ko namatay nung 2004 so bandang huli na po iyon ng December 2014. So January or February 2005 nandito na po ako. Mapapatunayan po iyan, yung mga anak ko naka-enroll na po dito ng June 2005, bumili na po kami ng matitirhan namin ng pansamantala noong 2005 hanggang pinapatayo pa namin yung aming lilipatan. Ang bahay po ng aking nanay sa San Juan ay naiwan na po sa aming mag-ina. Ang korporasyon po ng aking pamilya ay tinulungan kong maipagpatuloy noong 2005 pa. In fact, pwede na naman ninyong hindi sabihin ito, yung isang network nag-release ng pelikula ni FPJ, patuloy po ang paguusap namin sa kanilang mga liderato as early as that time kaya sila can provide that witness.
Q: Ma'am June 2015 na po ngayon, so as of today you already met the residency...
Poe: As of today po, lagpas lagpas na. In fact nga kung sasabihin nila na nagsinungaling ako doon, kulang nga ang nilagay ko. Kung sakali nga dapat pa mas makatulong sa akin iyon pero hindi nga po ako abogado at teknikalidad po. Parang sinasabi nila, before May, so that's any month, so I thought to err on the side of prudence na it's the day of my actual filing to show na I was eligible first for Senate, and if ever, sa mga darating po na panahon kung matutuloy man, ay talagang lagpas pa sa kinakailangan.
Q: COC nagkamali?
Poe: Hindi ko sasabihing nagkamali, dapat malinawan nila kasi. Ano ba talaga, is it on May 2013 or is it before? Exactly when? So diba, kung ikaw ang kandidato at may tinatago ka, mas gugustuhin mo nga ang on May 2013, ako nga sinigurado ko October pa lang yung filing, yun na yung sakin. Pero lahat po ng dokumento, pagbebenta po ng ari-arian sa America, yan po ay magpapakita...
Q: ...Ma'am sorry yung issue lang po ng pagiging foundling at citizenship, how will you explain that Ma'am?
Poe: Alam mo, isa pa ito tungkol dito sa isang napulot na bata, sabi ko tatakbo man ako o hindi, ito'y aking isang adbokasiya, ibig bang sabihin nila na ang isang bata na pinulot ay hindi na pwedeng mangarap na manilbihan sa isang mataas na posisyun at walang karapatan ng parehong oportunidad sa iba. Sa tingin ko naman, ang UN Convention on the Rights of a Child and the UN Convention on the Stateless Person ay internationally accepted laws, katulad ng human rights, at ang ating bansa ay tumatalima sa ganitong sitwasyon.
Q: Now you're interested to find out sino yung tunay niyong mga magulang?
Poe: Siyempre, kaya nga itong isyu na ito palaging may kurot ito sa puso kasi, oo ako talaga ay nabiyayaan at nagpapasalamat na may mga magulang na nagpalaki at nagmahal sa akin. Pero balikan po natin ang umpisa niyan, ako po ay pinamigay. Pero pinamigay man sa paraan siguro, hindi ko hinuhusgahan, ang aking mga tunay na magulang. Siguro hindi na lang talaga nila kaya, kung kaya sa simbahan na lang ako iniwan dahil may takot sa Diyos at pananalig din. Kaya nga pag binabalikan yun, sa mga ibang tao maswerte kayo, malinaw sa inyo kung sino ang mga magulang ninyo. Maswerte kayo kumpleto ang mga papel ninyo at magagawa ninyo ang kahit na ano. Sa akin, yun lamang ang binabato nila sa akin na para bang dahil hindi matukoy ang aking mga magulang ay wala na akong karapatan pang mag-isip ng ano pa man para manilbihan sa mas mataas na posisyon.
Q: (Inaudible)
Poe: Ako mas gugustuhin ko na i-buildup nila yun sapagkat yun ay masasagot ko ng buong buo ng walang itinatago at walang kasinungalingan. Sa tingin ko, sa isyu na yan hindi ako nawawalan ng tulog kung saka-sakali man mas napapalapit pa ako sa Diyos dahil sa pagpapasalamat sa mga biyayang naibigay niya sa akin.
Q: Ma'am pero intensyon niyo pa rin po bang hanapin ang mga magulang niyo para matuldukan yung mga tanong at duda
Poe: Alam mo, matagal ko nang ginawa yun. Nung 2013 nga, sinabi naming sa pagkakataon na ito, lalabas na. Pumunta ako ng Jaro, ilang beses, mga kaibigan ko tinatawagan ko. Minsan nga halos nagmamakaawa na ako, Manong Jun, yung pamilya na kumuha sa akin, sabihin mo naman talaga sa akin sino. Kasi ang hirap na rin nito, siyempre nasa isip at puso ko yan. Ano ba talaga ang nangyari, hindi daw talaga nila alam. Ngayon kung dumating man yan, salamat. Q: Sorry Ma'am but I have to ask, you've heard the issue about Rosemarie Sonora at kay Marcos, so no truth to that?
Poe: Alam mo unang-una, tinanong ko nanay ko. Ang nanay ko hindi naman magsisinungaling, sabi niya nung mga panahon na yun may mga issue na lumalabas na ganun, pero ang tita ko po na malapit ako doon, hindi talaga totoo yun. Ngayon kung may magpapatunay na iba sa showbiz, bahala sila pero pinaniniwalaan ko ang aking nanay at hindi yun talaga totoo. Pero minsan naglolokohan kami ni Sen. Bongbong, sabi ko Sen. Bongbong hindi kita pupwedeng bigyan ng special consideration sa Mamasapano na hahabaan ko ang time mo ng pagtatanong dahil baka mamaya mas maniwala pa sila na magkapatid tayo eh hindi naman totoo yun.
Q: On taking a DNA test...
Poe: But at this point it's to the best of my knowledge, it is not and kahit sa kanila, hindi na... parang we're stooping down to that level. I'd rather not and I just hope that the people will accept the truth that I am stating.
Q: Ma'am 'yung sa dual-citizenship po kinukwestyon, kindly explain...sabi nila Chinese decent daw po kayo. Please explain.
Poe: Hindi. Kasi yung dual-citizenship law po ay malinaw 'yun na pag-ikaw ay naging dual citizen na ng Pilipinas, you revert back to your original status. Ngayon, kung ang original status ko nga foundling ako dito, foundling pa rin ang status ko. Anu man ang papanigan ng batas at sa tingin ko naman ang batas ay kailangan protektahan ang mga naaapi at ang mga mas nangagailangan dahil iyun po ang makatarungan at hindi naman po sa pagbibigay ng favouritism sa iisa lamang pero hindi naman natin pwede sabihin "Uy ikaw itsapwera ka sapagkat hindi naming alam ang iyong pinagmulan". Wala naman po akong krimen na ginawa, wala rin pong pagnanakaw, sa tingin ko kung 'yan ang issue na aking kailangan sagutin, magpapasalamat nalang ako.
Q: Ma'am si Senator Nancy Binay may patutsada bat daw ayaw niyo aminin na tatakbo e ilang buwan nalang naman daw po filing na?
Poe: Ewan ko kung sino ang kanyang gustong tukuyin diyan ano. Lahat po halos ng pinagsususpetyahan na tatakbo may mga commercial na po sa telebisyon. Ako naman po kahit nag-iikot, ang aking ding pakay ay mapuntahan iyong mga imbitasyon na binigay saakin. Aaminin ko po, ngayon nagngyayari lahat ito, mas napapadalas ang isip ko dito at pagpaplano. Basta po kung lalabas ako, sabi nga nila "ilang percent na ba ang iyong desisyon?" sabi ko sa tingin ko mga 50% at mas lalo pa nilang tinutulak na mapalapit sa 100%.

Poe: Pag 'di ko malalaman siyempre ang puno't dulo niyan ay korte pa din ang magdedesisyon pero kami po ay kumpyansa sa mga dokumentong pwede naming iprisinta sa korte at ako po ay nananalig sa pagiging patas ng ating korte.

Poe: Parang hindi po totoo...Hindi ba kung mayroong isang taong napapagsuspetyahan na pumatay, palaging dapat beyond a reasonable doubt na yung tao na yun ang gumawa noon bago mo hatulan. Dito sa aking sitwasyon, isang batang iniwan sa bendita ng simbahan, duguan pa, sabi nila...Parang alanganin naman na may dalawang foreigner na may nanay na manganganak dito at hindi naman talaga Pilipino.
