“CARINA” SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIES WHILE MOVING NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA.

• Location of Center (4:00 AM)
The center of Tropical Depression CARINA was estimated based on all available data at 625 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (14.7°N, 129.9°E)
• Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa
• Present Movement
Northwestward at 30 km/h
• Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong winds extend outwards up to 150 km from the center

Heavy Rainfall Outlook

Heavy rainfall directly caused by CARINA remains less likely over next three days. However, there may be changes in the current forecast scenario in the succeeding bulletins, which may affect the heavy rainfall outlook within the forecast period.

The Southwest Monsoon that will be enhanced by BUTCHOY and CARINA will bring moderate to heavy rains over the western portion of Luzon over the next three days. For more information, refer to Weather Advisory No. 20 issued at 11:00 PM yesterday.

Severe Winds

Based on the latest forecast scenario, the hoisting of Wind Signal No. 1 over Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern portion of Northern Luzon is not ruled out.

Tropical Storm Carina latest Update

The Southwest Monsoon that will be enhanced by BUTCHOY and CARINA will bring gusty conditions over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
• Today and tomorrow (21 July): Kalayaan Islands
• Monday (22 July): CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Bataan, and Metro Manila.

HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS

CARINA and the Southwest Monsoon will bring moderate seas (1.0-2.0 m) over the coastal waters along the eastern seaboard of Mindanao. Mariners of motor bancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK

• CARINA is forecast to move generally northwestward until tomorrow while gradually decelerating. It is then forecast to turn generally northward on Monday before accelerating northward or north northwestward over the Philippine Sea towards the Ryukyu archipelago from Tuesday (23 July) onwards. In general, CARINA will generally have a mainly offshore path over the next five days and remain far from the Philippine landmass.
• CARINA is forecast to steadily intensify and reach tropical storm category within the next 24 hours. Beginning on Monday, the tropical cyclone will likely intensify further at a faster rate, eventually reaching typhoon category on Tuesday.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.

Activating your Maya physical card is straightforward. To activate your Maya Card, you’ll need to link it to your Maya account:

On your Maya app, tap Cards

  3. Nominate a 6-digit PIN to use when you withdraw money from an ATM or pay using your physical card at certain establishments
You can then use your Maya Card wherever Visa or Mastercard is accepted. Simply enter your card details at checkout to complete your online purchase.

You can use your virtual or physical Maya Card to make purchases at online stores and websites that accept card payments through Visa or Mastercard.On the online store or website, select the payment method Debit Card (Visa/Mastercard). Your Maya Card falls under the Debit Visa/Mastercard category.In some online stores, they only list Credit Card or PayPal as a payment option. Earlier there was an online buzz that Petro Gazz Angel's outside hitter, Myla Pablo is the highest paid volleyball player with a five million contract with Motolite before. While Eya Laure is said to be receiving  a P800,000 monthly salary with Cherry Tiggo Crossovers and Faith Nisperos having the same salary with her mother team, Akari Chargers but these are not yet confirmed.

According to ERI's Salary Expert Databe, the average volleyball player gross salary in Manila, Philippines is ₱346,214/ year or an equivalent to Php28,851 per month or hourly rate of ₱166. This is 8% higher (+₱25,171) than the average volleyball player salary in Philippines.


How much do PVL Players earn?

 In addition, they earn an average bonus of ₱8,032. Salary estimates based on salary survey data collected directly from employers and anonymous employees in Manila, Philippines. An entry-level volleyball player (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of ₱260,748. On the other end, a senior level volleyball player (8+ years of experience) earns an average salary of ₱422,738.

Although there was no disclosure of the actual salary and incentives, it has been said that Alyssa Valdez of the Creamline Cool Smashers is currently the highest-paid PVL player.

Meanwhile, Alas Pilipinas pool players are getting a P50,000 monthly allowance direct from the team sponsor, Meralco aside from their allowance as National Players. They have received P200,000 cash incentives from Senator Bong Go after winning a Bronze Medal in the recently concluded, AVC Challenge Cup.
