For the seventh year Abu Dhabi will host Formula 1®’s only twilight race. Taking place on the 27, 28, 29 November, the 2015 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX is the Middle East’s biggest international sporting event.
Bigger than ever before Yas Marina Circuit will host GP2 and GP3 as the support races, the final race of the 2015 season and everything to play for with a double points race.
Yas Marina Circuit is an awe-inspiring experience for drivers and spectators alike, with a waterfront setting to rival the likes of Monaco and Singapore. The circuit is straddled by the Yas Viceroy Hotel and also features a 60-metre solar powered Shams Tower and a pit lane, which sees the cars exit via a tunnel passing under the track. Off-track, the entertainment throughout this event shows Abu Dhabi at its most glamorous. Among other things, live concerts featuring performances by major international artists, in the past have included Price, Jay Z, Muse, Beyoncé, Aerosmith, Linkin Park, and Paul McCartney to name a few, as well VIP parties for F1®’s top stars make this the uncontested social and sporting occasion of the year.
Abu Dhabi is a city on the move. Not content with enjoying one of the world's richest oil reserves, the region has recently thrown itself into a massive programme of development. And one of the jewels in Abu Dhabi's crown is the new 5.55-kilometre Yas Marina Circuit, which on November 1, 2009, hosted the country's inaugural Grand Prix. It was also the first F1 twighlight race, with powerful lighting ensuring a seamless transition from day to night.
Located on the spectacular Yas Island, the track is set to revolutionise the design of future Formula One circuits. Boasting top speeds of 320 km/h and average speeds of 195 km/h, it features nine right turns and 11 left turns and is one of the few venues on the calendar to run in an anti-clockwise direction.
Some of the best views in motorsport are seen from the Circuit’s most iconic landmark – the Abu Dhabi Hill. Located opposite North Grandstand and adjacent to Main, spectators can observe all of the action from turn 2 all the way through to turn 6. Abu Dhabi Hill also offers distant views of the circuit’s longest straight where overtaking opportunities are likely as the drivers go head to head for a place on the podium.
New for 2015, Abu Dhabi Hill Pass ticket holders can enjoy entry to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, which features the world’s fastest rollercoaster and Yas Waterworld, the capital’s largest themed waterpark. One Yas pass is given for each day.
