l am still playing Flappy Bird in 2023

Who can relate to me and still play Flappy Bird in 2023?

Flappy Bird became popular in 2014 and this is the time that I am still working in Dubai. It is a mobile game developed by the Vietnamese video game programmer Dong Nguyen ,  The game is a side-scroller where the player controls a bird, attempting to fly between columns of green pipes without hitting them. Nguyen created the game over the period of several days, using a bird protagonist that he had designed for a canceled game in 2012.

The game was released in May 2013 but received a sudden spike in popularity in early 2014. Flappy Bird received poor reviews from some critics, who criticized its high level of difficulty and alleged plagiarism in graphics and game mechanics, while other reviewers found it addictive. At the end of January 2014, it was the most downloaded free game in the App Store for iOS. During this period, its developer said that Flappy Bird was earning $50,000 a day from in-app advertisements as well as sales.

Unfortunately, Flappy Bird was removed from both the App Store and Google Play on February 10, 2014, with Nguyen claiming that he felt guilty over what he considered to be the game's addictive nature. Due to the anticipated removal, those phones who managed to keep the game have been sold for an incredibly higher price posted through Amazon and other online selling stores. I also keep a copy of this game on my Android phone.

Game Over for Flappy Bird, the game was pulled out of Apple Store and Google Store! As noted in Kotaku, Nguyen said earlier this week that the press was “overrating” the success of his games: “It is something I never want. Please give me peace.”

Earlier today, Nguyen Ha Dong, the Vietnamese man who built the smash hit game Flappy Bird, removed the game from the app store.

Flappy Bird which was said to be one of the most addicting game caused a sensation after rising out of obscurity to become one of the most downloaded mobile games on both Apple and Google's online stores.

'I cannot take this anymore,' he wrote.

The Developer Dong Nguyen @dongatory tweeted on February 8, 2014.

As of this postings the apps not available already on Apple Store!

Online reports said that, people are already auctioning phones with Flappy Bird.

Flappy Bird will be deleted from Apple Store by Developer

Today's most popular and yet annoying game is reportedly, going to be deleted by the developer itself from Apple Store anytime today, February 9, 2014. The game is said to generate $USD 50k a day from ads and already downloaded 50 million times according to online reports.

Honestly I already deleted the game from my iPhone and downloaded it again today after hearing the news just in case it's true.

Pretty much everyone in my school is playing this game. If it is even remotely similar in many other places, then he has done well in the downloads department.

I don't think his success is faked.

In a series of tweets made just minutes ago, Nguyen stated that this move is not due to legal issues, but rather because he “just cannot keep it anymore.” Take a look for yourself…

However, the Developer Dong Nguyen @dongatory tweeted yesterday, february 8, 2014.

But as of this posting it is still available on Apple Store!  We are not sure if this is only marketing strategy for the developer, a brilliant marketing tactic... to get more downloads.

Flappy-bird mania is now on facebook !! Play Now !! Flappy Bird did not launch to popularity. It was released on May 23rd, 2013 and hung around the low 1,000s of download rankings for its first week before dropping off the charts according to tabtimes.com report.

Flappy Bird was created by Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen[5] and released by dotGears Studios on Apple’s iOS app store on May 24th, 2013. In the game, the player assumes the role of a pixelated flying bird and must guide it safely through a series of obstacles while keeping it afloat by pressing on the touch screen.

The game itself is 2.2 MB on the iOS App Store, which is tiny in today's market where the average app is 23 MB.
