Download iTunes 10.4.1

iTunes 10.4.1 can now be downloaded straight from the iTunes website or a surprisingly small update (around 15mb) can be downloaded via Apple's Software Update application for both Apple and Windows users.

According to the information posted on Apple's Software Update application, iTunes 10.4.1 contains the following bug fixes:

• Fixes a problem where the media keys on some third-party keyboards work inconsistently with iTunes 


• Addresses issues with adding artwork to songs and videos


• Resolves an issue which may cause iTunes to become unresponsive when purchasing an HD movie


• Fixes a problem where iTunes may take longer than expected to open after waking your Mac from sleep


• Addresses issues with VoiceOver support

Facebook goes nostalgic, shows old status updates of users

Social networking giant Facebook is giving its users a pinch of nostalgia, with a feature showing their status updates exactly a year or two ago.

Tech site Mashable speculated Facebook, which quietly rolled out the new feature, may be trying to remind users of the time they spent at Facebook so they need not switch to other sites.

“We’re not sure if Facebook thinks of these nostalgic features as just fun little additions to the product, or whether they serve a purpose. Perhaps Facebook wants to remind its users that they have invested years of their lives into their product, so perhaps they shouldn’t switch to something new. Or perhaps it’s just another one of Facebook’s many product engagement tools," Mashable said. Read Full Story...

Mismo! Board Game made by Pinoy OFW's

Mismo! is Filipino made (OFW) Board Game.

The object of the game is to win three rounds, each one marked by a Mis, Mo and !chip. Each player receives 10 answer cards, each of which contains a word from Filipino popular culture. Two roulettes, loaded with adjectives, are spun. The adjectives are formed into a question - Ano ang kadiri-to-death na mayabang? – and players attempt to respond with their cards. Hilarity ensues over the incongruous, often absurd answers.

 



Fellow players vote on their favorite answers with Boto Ko! chips, enticing one to be as creative as possible. Our version of the game encouraged players to justify their answers, where the most interesting rationalizations take place. Who knew that the adjective makulay can be interpreted in so many different ways?

As a game “for Filipinos by Filipinos," they not only created a game that we can all finally relate to, but they have also showcased aspects about ourselves that we have grown to devalue. Philippine popular culture is no longer baduy or insignificant, but the opposite -- worth knowing, if only to earn bragging rights for winning at this game.

Smart and Globe free 'Facebook for all' Java app

In order to increase their mobile internet subscriber-base, Smart and Globe have both released a Java-based App so that even cheaper (mostly Symbian S40) phones can now access Facebook conveniently.

Smart's FB Java app works on over 2,500 low-cost phone models {see list here}.



To download, just text FB to 211. You will get a confirmation SMS with the link to the download page.



The service is free until October 14, 2011. Smart did not indicate how much they will charge after that, but it’s possible that their PhP20 "FB-all-you-want" offering can be used here.



Globe also announced a similar Java app yesterday, August 9. To download their app, just text FB to 2910 to get the link.



You will need to use the MyGlobe Connect APN settings in order to use it for free (else you get charged the normal rates). The service is also free until October 31, 2011. — Yugatech.com

Black Eyed Peas will launch a dance video game that will surely brings fun and excitement to their fans.The game called "Black Eyed Peas Experience" will give fans the opportunity to experience what it's like to be one of the members of the world famous hip-hopgroup.

According to its Filipino-American member Apl.de. ap, the video game created by French computer and video game publisher Ubisoft will allow fans to "experience Black Eyed Peas" in their own living rooms.

Free Nexus S at Best Buy

Nexus S Android smartphone is being offered for free by Best Buy as part of their partnership with Google.



The phone, which is available on T-Mobile, AT&T or Sprint, is free Wednesday, August 3, in conjunction with a two-year contract. The Nexus S, which is advertisedas having a “pure Google experience” like the ill-fated Nexus One, debuted last fall.

The Nexus S 4G for Sprint is the first NFC-enabled Android device on the market and will work with the Google Wallet service that launches later this year.



The Nexus S runs Android 2.3, Gingerbread and features a 1Ghz processor, 16GB offlash memory and a 4-inch touchscreen.



Google is advertising the free offer on its homepage and at the Nexus landing page. The phone is normally $99 or $199, depending on carrier, with a two-year contract, so interested buyers should act fast.
