PSY 'Gentleman' hit more than 50 Million in one Day- Breaking YouTube Record!
Psy's new music video had received more than 50 million views on YouTube by Monday, April 15, re-writing the video-sharing site's records for single-day hits.
PSY tweeted, "51million views in 40hours!! My God~!!!" the 35-year-old star exclaimed on his Twitter account.
Meanwhile, according to the report from Rappler, "Gentleman" was ranked in the top 10 songs on iTunes stores in a number of countries Monday, including France, Canada, New Zealand, Denmark and Sweden. It also topped the chart in Finland.
Of course, it will always be compared with Gangnam style. That's the dilemma of having a worldwide hit. Trying to replicate that success will be tough, really tough. I will be surprised if Gentleman do better. I don't find the video hilarious. Maybe I'm just too serious? It may not be a catchy tune now, but time will tell. When everybody's playing it, and you hear it everywhere, your brain cannot resist it anymore and there, it becomes catchy.
