Here's How to Turn off Voice Chat on your Kinect tutorial from EA Sports.
When you start your game, you may hear other players talking. This raises the question: can they hear you as well? If you have a Kinect, the answer may be yes! But there is a way to turn this feature off on both sides if you prefer.
To change your Voice Chat settings:
- Press the central Guide button on your controller.
- Scroll to Settings, and select System Settings.
- Select Kinect Settings, and look for Chat Microphone in the list.
- If you want to prevent other players from hearing you in the game, turn off the chat microphone. Don't worry--your Kinect speech commands will still work.
Alternatively, with the Kinect Guide, you can turn the chat microphone on or off by hovering your hand over the speech icon in the lower-right corner.
Of course, you may still hear other players, but you can mute them as well. Simply tap the button to the left of Guide (View on Xbox One or Back on Xbox 360), and press X to mute any player listed. On Xbox One, there is an option to Mute All. Select any player on the leaderboard to bring up this button.
