If you’ve played “Killer Instinct” on Xbox One, then you might be familiar with how the Free Trial system works. You can download “Powerstar Golf” for free and play a series of free events with one character. It includes a training event, as well as two different events that sample a hole from each of the game’s five courses.
Players on the free version still earn credits, level up, can purchase gear and collect boosters – just like the full game. Additional purchasable content is split into Course Game Packs, which run $5.99 each (or $19.99 for the whole thing). Game Packs unlock courses, golfers, and caddies. And they go towards the full game price, so you can choose to upgrade later without taking a hit.
