How to Send Voice and Text Message on XBox One Tutorial .
Sending voice and text messages to friends is easy with Messages on Xbox One. You can send messages to friends, people you recently played games with, or other people who have gamertags.
Send messages to friends
To send messages to one of your friends through Xbox One:
- Sign in to Xbox Live.
- On your Xbox One Wireless Controller, press the Xbox button.
- Go to the Friends hub and select Friends online.
- Highlight the friend's gamertag, and then press the A button on your controller.
- Select Send and then select Message to send a text message, or select the microphone icon to send a voice message.
- Enter or record your message.
- When finished, select Send.
Note SmartGlass with a smartphone is a great way to quickly enter text messages.
Send messages to other people
To send messages to other people, such as someone you recently played with:
- Go to the Friends hub and select Friends online.
- Select Change view. Here you can see a list of players by selecting Friends, Favorites, Followers,Recent players, or Games.
- Highlight a gamertag, and press the A button on your controller.
- Select Send and then select Message to send a text message, or select the microphone icon to send a voice message.
- Enter or record your message.
- When finished, select Send.
Send messages to people not on your Friends or Favorites list
To send messages to people not on your Friends or Favorites list, you have to know their gamertag.
- Go to the Friends hub and select Friends online.
- Select Find someone.
- Enter the gamertag of the player you'd like to find, and then press Enter.
- Select the gamertag and press the A button on your controller.
- Select Send and then select Message to send a text message, or select the microphone icon to send a voice message.
- Enter or record your message.
- When finished, select Send.
