Hello Plants vs. Zombies fans!
My name is Brian Lindley. Some of you may remember me as the producer of Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare – the crazy fun, over-the-top shooter that took the Plants vs. Zombies universe into a completely new genre. With Garden Warfare, our goal was to create an awesome new way to play with all of your favorite PvZ characters in a brand new setting – something completely new and fresh from the tower-defense genre. It was a big change and we were so humbled when millions of people played the game and had such positive feedback. So, naturally, we set out to do it again! Our team has been hard at work to give players another brand new way to have fun with your favorite Plants vs. Zombiescharacters.
So today, I’m thrilled to announce our team at PopCap is switching it up all over again withPlants vs. Zombies™ Heroes – our brand new collectible card game with Super Hero style.Plants vs. Zombies Heroes is available now on mobile in select territories and coming soon worldwide.
The journey of PvZ Heroes began over two years ago as a paper card game prototype built in the spare time of our Creative Director, Devin Low. From those simple beginnings, Devin continued to experiment, and after several months of playtesting and development, the end result is Plants vs. Zombies Heroes; charming and approachable, but rich with depth, secrets and strategy.
PvZ Heroes introduces a new class of awesome characters to the PvZ Universe; Super Hero Plants and Zombies. Heroes like The Green Shadow - an elusive but powerful peashooter, known for taking out zombies with her Precision Blast, or one my personal favorites, Impfinity, a Zombie Imp Hero with the ability to create multiple Imp clones during battle. PvZ Heroes will also include new characters from Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2like Super Brainz, Z-Mech, Citron, and Rose. With over a dozen Heroes and hundreds of characters available to play and collect at launch, we’re bringing dozens of new characters to PvZ alongside many of the classics you already know and love. Pick your favorite Hero, assemble your team, and use your heroic skills to outwit your opponents in battle.
On top of great characters, PvZ Heroes delivers some other awesome new “firsts”, like the ability to play as either plants or zombies on mobile. Real-time multiplayer is also brand new in PvZ Heroes and lets you battle against other players and challenge your friends; test your powers and strategy against the rest of the world in multiplayer battles. Experiment with different Heroes and team combinations in single player missions, and then create mine-blowing strategies for your Hero by selecting compatible teammates, all while honing your skills and fine-tuning your strategy. All of this takes place across multiple locations that are as zany and diverse as the Plant and Zombie Heroes who inhabit them.
There’s even more to come as we listen to your feedback, and work towards creating the best game possible by including new features and improving gameplay. Look out for additional features, including real-time competitive PvP and a crafting system, available later this year.
