How much do PVL Players earn?

Earlier there was an online buzz that Petro Gazz Angel's outside hitter, Myla Pablo is the highest paid volleyball player with a five million contract with Motolite before. While Eya Laure is said to be receiving  a P800,000 monthly salary with Cherry Tiggo Crossovers and Faith Nisperos having the same salary with her mother team, Akari Chargers but these are not yet confirmed.

According to ERI's Salary Expert Databe, the average volleyball player gross salary in Manila, Philippines is ₱346,214/ year or an equivalent to Php28,851 per month or hourly rate of ₱166. This is 8% higher (+₱25,171) than the average volleyball player salary in Philippines.

 In addition, they earn an average bonus of ₱8,032. Salary estimates based on salary survey data collected directly from employers and anonymous employees in Manila, Philippines. An entry-level volleyball player (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of ₱260,748. On the other end, a senior level volleyball player (8+ years of experience) earns an average salary of ₱422,738.

Although there was no disclosure of the actual salary and incentives, it has been said that Alyssa Valdez of the Creamline Cool Smashers is currently the highest-paid PVL player.

Meanwhile, Alas Pilipinas pool players are getting a P50,000 monthly allowance direct from the team sponsor, Meralco aside from their allowance as National Players. They have received P200,000 cash incentives from Senator Bong Go after winning a Bronze Medal in the recently concluded, AVC Challenge Cup.

The U.S. Women, the defending Olympic champions, will play China, France and Serbia in pool play at the Summer Games in Paris, which begin July 26. 

In Pool B Japan will take on Brazil, Poland and Kenya, while Italy will have to face Turkiye, Netherland and Dominican Republic.

Paris Olympics 2024 Current Medal Tally

The latest medal tally at the 2024 Paris Olympics is available on this page once the event starts. United States of America, China, Japan, Great Britain and Russia are expected to dominate the Olympic medal table. Australia, Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy made it to top 10 in Tokyo 2020 Olympics and are also heavy favorite for a medal haul.

The program of the 2024 Summer Olympics will feature 329 events in 32 sports, including the 28 "core" Olympic sports contested in 2016 and 2020,and four optional sports that were proposed by the Paris Organising Committee: breaking will make its Olympic debut as an optional sport, while skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing will return from 2020. Four events have been dropped from weightlifting. In canoeing, two sprint events have been replaced with two slalom events, keeping the overall total at 16. In sport climbing, the previous "combined" event has been divided into separate speed climbing and boulder & lead disciplines for each gender.

Filipino, EJ Obiena (Pole Vaulter) and Carlos Yulo (Gymnast) are expected for a medal finish this 2024 Paris Olympics. The closing ceremonies are scheduled to be held at Stade de France on 11 August 2024.

2024 Paris Olympics: Volleyball Live Game Schedule

World Number 1 Turkiye is a heavy favorite to win the Gold in the Women's category but will face a tough challenge from the USA, Brazil, Poland, Italy China and Japan. While Poland is being favored for the men's category followed by Italy and Japan.

The FIVB Volleyball World Ranking reflects the true sporting strength of the 22 2 national teams per gender factoring in all matches played in recognised official competitions. It is a dynamic system in which every single match and set count.

The Olympic torch relay began with the lighting of the Olympic flame on 16 April in Olympia, Greece, 100 days before the start of the Games. Greek rower Stefanos Douskos was the first torchbearer and swimmer Laure Manaudou served as the first French torchbearer. The latter was selected to be one of four captains of the torch relay, alongside swimmer Florent Manaudou (her brother), paratriathlete Mona Francis [fr], and para-athlete Dimitri Pavadé. The torch relay is expected to have 10,000 torchbearers and visit over 400 settlements in 65 French territories, including six overseas.

Who will win the Bronze, Silver, and Gold medal in the Women's Paris Olympics 2024? I'm anticipating that Japan will enter the semis and might pull a surprise in the medal match.
