Elgato Game Capture HD60 support most DVD or Blu-ray players, or VCRs?

Elgato Game Capture HD60 can work with HDMI video sources, like some DVD or Blu-ray players, as long as the video signal does not use HDCP copy protection.



VCRs typically do not offer HDMI video outputs, so they wouldn't work with Elgato Game Capture HD60.



Elgato Game Capture HD60 does not accept Composite or Component input. For those analog inputs, you can use the original Elgato Game Capture HD device.

Elgato Game Capture HD60 works with unencrypted HDMI sources

High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a digital copy protection system that is commonly associated withDisplayPort, DVI or HDMI connections.

Elgato Game Capture HD60 cannot receive any HDMI signal that has HDCP protection. It can receive HDMI signals that are not protected, like from the Xbox 360, Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

If you connect a HDMI signal that has HDCP protection, then Elgato Game Capture HD60 will not display video.
