Customize Control Center

You can customize Control Center so you can quickly change the settings for the things you do most. Want to be ready when inspiration hits? Add a Voice Memos control. Want to dim the lights in the dining room with a tap? Add Home controls. Here’s how:
  1. Go to Settings > Control Center.
  2. Tap Customize Controls.
  3. To add controls, tap . To remove controls, tap , then tap Remove.
Want to rearrange controls in Control Center? Just go to Settings > Control Center, tap Customize Controls, then touch and hold  next to the controls and drag them in the order that you want them.

Next time you're browsing Safari in landscape on iPhone and you want to see all your open tabs, just pinch in.

Show tab overview: To see thumbnails of all the open tabs in the main window of a Tab Group, Control-click the name in the sidebar, then choose Show Tab Overview. To view one of the pages full size, click its thumbnail. To close a tab, click the Close button in the upper-left corner of the thumbnail.

Open Safari. Tap the Tabs button, then tap the New Tab button . By default the Start Page includes a section showing the tabs that are open on your other devices.


On your Mac

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings. In macOS Monterey or earlier, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences. 
  2. Click Apple ID, then click iCloud. 
  3. Click to turn on Safari.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.
  2. Tap iCloud.
  3. Under Apps Using iCloud, make sure that Safari is on. You might need to tap Show All to see Safari.

Constantly checking your emails in case you miss something important? Customize your Mail settings to choose how new emails are delivered.

Go to Settings > Mail > Notifications, then make sure that Allow Notifications is on. Tap Customize Notifications, then tap the email account you want to make changes to. Select the settings you want, like Alerts or Badges.

Mute email notifications

To reduce interruptions from busy email threads, you can mute notifications from messages in a conversation.

  1. Open an email in the conversation.

  2. Tap the Reply buttonthen tap Mute.

To specify what you want done with emails you muted, go to Settings  > Mail > Muted Thread Action, then select an option.

Change your Mail notification settings

  1. Go to Settings  > Mail > Notifications, then make sure that Allow Notifications is on.

  2. Tap Customize Notifications, then tap the email account you want to make changes to.

  3. Select the settings you want, like Alerts or Badges. When you turn on Alerts, you have the option to customize your sounds by changing the alert tone or ringtone.
