Learn more about MUT Salary Cap Ranked BETA, an all-new mode in Madden Ultimate Team.

Hey Madden Fans,

It’s crazy to think that it’s already been close to 8 months since the launch of Madden NFL 16. During that time not only have we shipped the base game, but we’ve also added major features during our post launch support such as Draft Champions Ranked, Draft Champions Play-A-Friend, and even reintroduced competitive Madden gaming with the revival of the Madden Challenge. Well today we're thrilled to announce that we have one more surprise up our sleeve. In the coming weeks, we’ll be releasing the next update to Madden NFL 16 which will introduce a brand new mode to Madden Ultimate Team – Salary Cap Ranked Beta.

Salary Cap Ranked Beta is not just a new game mode, it’s a fundamental change that is felt throughout the entire Madden Ultimate Team experience by assigning a Cap Value to every player and redefining how to assemble a lineup. This is being referred to as a “Beta” because of the size of the feature and the timing of when we're releasing it. When we ran the Madden Challenge on Draft Champions Ranked, we heard your voices. It was clear that there was a major appetite to support competitive games in the Madden Ultimate Team structure. We asked our Continuous Development Team if we could develop Salary Cap Ranked in time to release it during the Madden NFL 16 cycle. The answer was a resounding “yes, we can.” The word “Beta” certainly does not reflect the quality of the feature. However we are anxious to hear what you think and what kind of improvements you would like to see in the future.

Before we go any further, I do want to make it clear that the traditional way of playing MUT has not changed or been excluded. You can still play with the full lineups that you are accustomed to in Solo Challenges and Seasons H2H play. Salary Cap Ranked Beta is simply a new test of mastery as you’ll need to be equally as skilled with building your lineup as you are with playing with them on the field. More on that in a moment…

I’m having trouble matching up with other people online. Why can’t I match up in Online Head to Head?
We’ve implemented a new matchmaking system that keeps you competing against people who play similar to you. The initial search finds players with similar play styles. If a comparable player is not found, the search extends to additional players. This can increase the expected matchmaking time.

I’m having trouble joining a game session on Xbox One. How do I accept the invite?
The session creator must first “Add” an opponent to a game session. Once the opponent has accepted the initial invite, the session creator can then send the game session invite. The opponent should receive the invitation via the Xbox One dashboard.

Additionally, players can always join game sessions by pressing (R3) on the main menu to access the Madden Messenger. Selecting the invite through Madden Messenger will launch the player into the game session.

I’m trying to use CoachGlass, but the features don’t seem to be working.
The player must use their Active profile and connect to the same network as their console. If the player does not connect with the Active profile and connect to the same network, certain features will not function correctly.

How can I search for an Unranked Quick Match?
Press the (X) button on Xbox One or the (Square) button on PlayStation 4 on the main Online Head to Head hub to find an Unranked Quick Match session.

You must achieve a ranking of at least 100,000 to show on the leaderboards. If you’ve achieved a ranking (only the top 100,000 players do), this leaderboard will show where you ranked with 50 people ranked above and below you.

If you’ve played against friends, the friends leaderboard displays how you rank against friends based on the number of Rankings Points each of you earns.
