The site currently offers more than 2,500 family-friendly games, all of which has been manually selected, tested and classified into 250+ categories. It continues to grow with more than 100 games being added every week.
Playnook offers additional features that make it easier to choose and play game. Every game has its own video and mission previews - a first in the industry - and a well-formatted “How to play” box on the game page.
“We built Playnook with the following goals: ease of use, complete and fun. To achieve this, we played around hundreds of arcade sites, taking note of their strengths and weaknesses. Then we added our own ideas based on the three goals,” said Neil Yamit, the site’s content manager. “Months of development work later, we have Playnook. But this is just the beginning. Playnook serves as the foundation of our future projects, which include an integrated social gaming network, niche gaming sites, and, of course, an HTML5 gaming portal.”
The site, Yamit added, is open for collaboration with game developers who would like to have their creations featured on it.
The team plans to build on its strong classification system by developing a distribution network and releasing a free game content management system (CMS).
Playnook is developed by Kitteric Net, Inc., a web development & publishing company based in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines.
