World's Largest Crocodile from Philippines is was found dead on February 10, 2013. Lolong was captured in September 2011. It was named after crocodile hunter Ernesto “Lolong” Cañete, who died of a heart attack at the height of the search for the large aquatic tetrapod.

Lolong was the largest crocodile in captivity. He was an Indo-Pacific or Saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) measured at 20 feet 3 inches (6.17 m), making him one of the largest crocodiles ever measured from snout-to-tail.

The 21-foot, 1,075-kilogram saltwater crocodile passed away at 8:12 p.m., GMA News reports.
