YouTube partner reporting in AdSense Update

On 1 April 2013, YouTube Adsense program made some changes to the way that they report earnings for YouTube partners. Most notably, YouTube earnings are now calculated and displayed only in YouTube Analytics, and no longer in the AdSense interface.

The changes provide YouTube partners with a single source of accurate performance data. However, YouTube Adsense recognise that they have caused some confusion on their partners. With this in mind, YouTube Adsense like to clarify the main issues that they've heard from their YouTube partner.

  • First, the update will not have an impact on the amount that you can expect to earn from YouTube. Of course, fluctuations in earnings may still occur due to changes in video views or advertiser spend, but this is not related to this update of the way that earnings are reported.

  • Second, your payments will continue to be processed in the AdSense payment cycle. YouTube Analytics will provide your estimated earnings information during the course of a month. Within fifteen (15) days of the end of that month, your earnings will be finalised and can be viewed on the payments page of your AdSense account.

  • Third, remember that earnings displayed in YouTube Analytics are estimated earnings only, and that the finalised amount that is paid by AdSense may be different. You can learn more about the difference between estimated earnings and finalised earnings.
