Mozilla Firefox has upgraded its "Firefox OS" operating system for mobile devices, rolling out Firefox OS 1.1 to Geeksphone smartphones. Firefox 1.1 delivers patches for a number of bugs including HD screen, importing contacts, navigational bugs and issues with the email app.
Tech site Engadget said users of the devices running Firefox OS 1.1 reported faster boot times, even as Mozilla said the upgrade also contains bug fixes.
"According to enthusiasts on the Geeksphone forums and Twitter (Firefox OS 1.1) speeds up boot times, patches an assortment of bugs and tacks on minor navigational and display improvements," it said.
Users of the Geeksphone can update the Firefox OS manually, the report added.
The Geeksphone, in Keon and Peak variants, is one of the first devices running Firefox OS.
