EA Sports and Popcap advise the Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare player regarding the issue.
"We think that the zombies are up to something, or Chomper got to the cables… we’ve received reports that some players are having difficulty connecting to EA’s PvZ servers and are receiving the error, “Unable to connect to EA servers at this time. Please check your network connection and try again later.”

EA added, "Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare uses FairFight to protect our players from unfair practices in online play."
