In a statement, Rashed Al Qurese, QTA’s director of marketing and promotions, said:

Souq Waqif, the oldest souq in Doha, was originally a weekend market used by the Bedouin. It has been completely restored and is now a maze of alleyways with small shops offering souvenirs, spices, perfumes and traditional clothing. Stop for a coffee at a café, or dine in at one of the eight boutique hotels.
