The Last of Us shipped in June 2013 and has won universal praise as well as over 200 Game of the Year awards. Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Remastered to widespread critically acclaim.

I can understand that. Although I personally do still enjoy realistic action games like Uncharted and fighting games as well, I will always love the games I grew up with like Crash Bandicoot, Mario and Sonic. It's the type of thing that can bring you back to your childhood and can put a smile on your face as you play them. Most of them have simple gameplay but fun and very creative level design that you can't really get in a more realistic game (because it would look silly and ridiculous of course) and show that games don't have to be full of violence to be fun.
