2014 DICE Annual Awards Winners

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences is proud to honor the year’s finest achievements in video games with nominations for the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards (#DICEAwards), the video game industry’s premier peer-based awards show. The Academy’s 22,000+ members, comprised of the interactive publishing and development communities, recognize excellence in 24 different interactive game categories in one of the highest forms of recognition in the industry.



61 games were recognized with D.I.C.E. Awards nominations for the past year. Leading is The Last of Us with 13 nods, including Game of the Year. Games also recognized for 2013’s highest honor: Assassin's Creed: IV Black Flag, Bioshock Infinite, Grand Theft Auto V and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Titles with multiple nominations include Grand Theft Auto V with seven, Bioshock Infinite with six, and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Tearaway tying with five each.




 

The D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas at the end of the 2014 D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit (#DICE2014); it will live stream in its entirety at 7:30pm PT/10:30pm ET. Also being honored this year as the Pioneer Award recipient is Eugene Jarvis, legendary video game designer whose arcade-era games Defender and Robotron: 2084 have made lasting impact on the games industry.

Where to watch DICE Summit and Annual Awards 2014 Live Streaming Online?

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences is thrilled to introduce Felicia Day and Freddie Wong as co-hosts for the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards (#DICEAwards), the interactive industry’s premier peer-based Awards show. Day, an actress/producer, gamer and co-founder of the popular digital entertainment network Geek & Sundry, along with Wong, a filmmaker and competitive gamer, proudly wear their geek badges with honor and have become synonymous with the fun and quirks that define video game culture. They’ll bring their unique blend of gaming know-how and humor to the Feb. 6 event at the Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

Fans across the globe also will have a chance to check out the co-hosts live at the D.I.C.E. Awards and catch some of their favorite game developers participating in the two-day 2014 D.I.C.E. Summit preceding the Awards show(#DICE2014). Following a successful partnership at D.I.C.E. Europe, the Academy today also announced it will once again join forces with Twitch, the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers with more than 45 million visitors per month, to stream the Summit and Awards show. For the first time ALL the Summit sessions will be live streamed, kicking off with the first session on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 9:45 AM, and concluding with the last session on Thursday, Feb. 5, 5 PM PST. The Awards show will be live streamed on Thursday, Feb. 6, beginning at 7:30 PM PST. Both can be viewed at www.twitch.tv/dice.
