Toyota revealed its sports design "Toyota FT-1" at the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit, Michigan, and Gran Turismo created the image movie of this Toyota FT-1 to be shown at the Toyota booth of the show. The Toyota FT-1 was also made available within Gran Turismo 6, enabling players all over the world to experience its stunning performance. This is the movie that was shown at the show.

"FT-1" stands for "Future Toyota", and the number "1" signifies its top tier position. The car's exterior is full of brand concepts and design directions that will appear in Toyota cars to come, and was created by Toyota's Calty Design Research design studio located in Newport Beach, California. The concept shows not only their approach for the future, but also the DNA of iconic Toyota cars like the 2000GT, Celica and Supra.

Toyota is once again the world's top automaker, selling nearly 9.75 million vehicles in 2012.

Toyota Motors Leads 2012 Global Sale!

According to AFP Report, General Motors lost the global sales crown once again to Toyota in 2012 as its sales grew just 2.9 percent to 9.2 million vehicles, the US auto giant said Monday, January 14.

GM, which briefly regained the crown after Toyota's supplies were shattered by the 2011 Japanese quake and tsunami, nonetheless remains at number two worldwide.

Meanwhile, according to Associated Press, Toyota Motor Corp. released its tally for global vehicle sales for last year Monday at a record 9.748 million vehicles — a bigger number than the estimate it gave last month of about 9.7 million vehicles.
