GCash Tutorial- How to Log in Safely with your account

GCash is very helpful for ease of online payment with your bills and shopping. Now I can pay my Meralco and Maynilad bills without leaving my apartment. But we need to protect our account from unwanted transactions and how to do it?

How you can Log in safely with your MPIN/biometrics?

GCash DoubleSafe protects your GCash account with the use of two levels of authentication. This adds another layer of security to help prevent your money and personal data from being hacked or stolen.

DoubleSafe is triggered every time there is a new login with your GCash account. You can only log in using your mobile number and cannot log in with your email address (ex. Gmail or Yahoo). If you delete certain information on your phone, but you’re still using the same device, DoubleSafe will be activated.

Protect your GCash account to avoid possible loss of your funds or stealing of your personal details. Learn how to secure your account below:

  1. Never share your GCash MPIN or OTP (authentication code) with anyone. GCash or its representatives will never ask for your personal information unless you request help through the GCash Help Center.
  2. Access GCash through a trusted phone. Do not log in to GCash using another person's device since they may access your information. Jailbroken or rooted phones are prevented from opening the app since they may increase your risk of getting hacked.

Can I pay overdue bills via GCash? I was not able to pay my bills on time, how can I pay via GCash?

You can pay for overdue bills using GCash except Meralco which does not accept late payments. Please refer to the additional reminders from the biller.

If you've received a disconnection notice from Meralco, you can no longer use GCash to pay for your bill. Instead, please pay your overdue balance in any Meralco branch.

Fees and posting of your payment will differ depending on your biller. You may view the full list of Partner Billers and their corresponding fees here.

Please make sure you input the correct information and review the details before making your transaction.

Follow the steps below to pay your bills via GCash:
  1. On your GCash homepage, tap Bills
  2. Find and tap to select your biller
  3. Input the information required by your biller then tap Next
  4. Confirm the details of your transaction
You will receive an SMS or email in your GCash-registered email address once your transaction has been confirmed. Confirmation of the bill processing may take time depending on your biller.

If you cannot pay your bill through GCash due to an error or your payment is being rejected, try the following steps:
  1. Restart the app and check your internet connection
  2. You can also try troubleshooting common app issues
  3. Check your wallet balance if you have sufficient funds
  4. Please check the GCash Help Center if your biller has a system downtime or maintenance
  5. Check if you have exceeded your GCash transaction limit. If you have reached your limit, you will need to wait until the start of the following month for it to refresh
  6. If you still can't pay your bill, submit a ticket and include a screenshot of the error message

Scheduling your biller's payment via GCash helps you manage your bill payments on time to avoid missing payments on the due date. Whenever my due date for Maynilad and Meralco is approaching, I receive a notice on my mobile from the GCash app reminding me of the payment schedule.

Before scheduling your bill payment, please make sure to have sufficient balance in your account by 12AM. If you cash in the middle of the day, or if your scheduled bill payment fails, the scheduled bill payment will automatically be canceled. You will need to process the bill payment manually in GCash.
